The Blur and Gorillaz man began working on the self-titled LP with the Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist and The Good, The Bad & The Queen drummer in 2008 when they met on a flight to Lagos, Nigeria.

The album, which was recorded in Albarnโ€™s Studio 13 in London, also features contributions from singer Erykah Badu, Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara, Ghanian rapper M. anifest and the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble.

Rocketjuice And The Moon made their live debut with a show at the Barbican in London in October last year.

Albarn has previously explained that the band didnโ€™t come up with their name themselves, stating: โ€œSomeone in Lagos did the sleeve design and thatโ€™s the name he gave it, which suits me because trying to find a name for another band is always tricky.โ€

Yesterday (February 9), Albarnโ€™s band Gorillaz announced a collaboration with Outkastโ€™s Andre 3000 and LCD Soundystemโ€™s James Murphy. The track, which is called โ€˜DoYaThingโ€™, was recorded for Converseโ€™s โ€˜Three Artists. One Songโ€™ project and will be released as a free download on February 23.
