Thurston Moore has formed a new band with My Bloody Valentine bass player Debbie Googe.
Spin reports that The Thurston Moore Band also boasts Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley among its ranks as well as English guitarist James Sedwards. A list of the band's European tour dates is listed on Sonic Youth's website with an appearance at the Dockville Festival in Hamburg, Germany first up.
Sonic Youth will reissue their 1988 album Daydream Nation next month [June].
The band confirmed a series of reissue plans via a post on their official website on May 5.
Two guitars stolen at a Sonic Youth gig in 1999 have been returned, 13 years later.
The band's rented truck full of their equipment was stolen in the middle of the night before a festival appearance in Orange County. The truck was later found in Los Angeles, empty.
Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore played his first gig with new band Chelsea Light Moving last week.
The four-piece, which consists of Moore along with Keith Wood on guitar, Samara Lubelski on bass and John Moloney on drums, played their debut show at Brooklyn's 285 Kent, Spin reports.
They played an eight-song set, presumably made up of tracks from their forthcoming album, which they are currently recording and will be released on Matador.
