The 10th Uncut Playlist Of 2011

A nice list again this week, with a terrific new White Denim album arriving late yesterday afternoon.

Colin Stetson: โ€œNew History Warfare Vol. 2: Judgesโ€

One of those serendipitous music/environment moments this morning. As I was walking down Stamford Hill in a thickish mist, Colin Stetsonโ€™s fathomlessly deep saxophone came looming out of my headphones like a foghorn This is one of the first things you hear on โ€œNew History Warfare Vol. 2: Judgesโ€, a pretty unusual and excellent record that Iโ€™ve been meaning to write about for a while.

The Master Musicians Of Bukkake: โ€œTotem 3โ€

Not a record Iโ€™ve pulled down from the shelves in a while, but this weekend I was inspired to locate a handsome set called โ€œTibetan Buddhist Rites From The Monasteries Of Bhutanโ€. The motivation, I guess, was a certain preoccupation with โ€œTotem 3โ€ by The Master Musicians Of Bukkake, and its predecessor โ€œTotem 2โ€.
