Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band have confirmed they will play tour dates in 2014.
Responding to reports that a run of Australian dates were about to be confirmed, Springsteen's manager Jon Landau has now confirmed tour dates for Australia and New Zealand.
Marianne Faithfull has been forced to cancel shows in Lebanon and America after fracturing her sacrum.
Having suffered the injury in a fall in July, Marianne had been hoping to be fully recovered in time for the shows. In a handwritten letter to fans in Beirut she wrote:
“I am so sad I won’t be able to sing for you on Saturday. I broke my back in July & hoped & prayed I would be better enough to be able to do the performance on 17th August, although it’s not very long, but my recovery was going well. Alas!
Pete Townshend has issued a statement about the One Direction Twitter storm, which has seen fans of the boyband take to the social networking site to defend claims that One Direction's new single, "Best Song Ever", sounds like The Who's "Baba O'Riley".
Responding to unsbstantiated claims that The Who are planning to take action against One Direction, Pete Townshend said.
Boards Of Canada have confirmed a batch of vinyl reissues through Warp Records.
They will release 1998's Music Has The Right To Children, Geogaddi (2002) and The Campfire Headphase (2006) on October 21. These will be followed on November 18 by the mini-album Twoism (1995) and EPs In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country (2000) and Trans Canada Highway (2006).
A vinyl reissue of Hi Scores EP (1996) will be released through Skam later this year.
The Who have found themselves inadvertently embroiled in a row with fans of boyband One Direction on social media site, Twitter.
The row stems from comments made by Click Music, which saw certain similarities between the intro on One Direction's new single, "Best Song Ever", and The Who's track, "Baba O'Riley".
The White Stripes have confirmed that Jack White's Third Man label will reissue the band's fourth album, Elephant.
Originally released in 2003, Elephant was given a limited edition vinyl re-release in April this year for Record Store Day.
Now, Third Man have confirmed a full re-release for the vinyl edition.
A live performance by Alex Chilton recorded on February 13, 1997 at The Knitting Factory in New York is to be released on October 21.
The venue suffered a power cut, although Chilton stayed on and entertained fans for an hour with an acoustic set consisting of cover versions.
The 18-song set is to be released as the Electricity By Candlelight album on the Bar/None label.
