But his old Big Star bandmate Jody Stephens told Uncut, "Alex, to my knowledge, never did anything that he didn't want to do." The piece examines the late songwriter’s life as a solo artist, his time in Tav Falco’s Panther Burns and his subsequent move to New Orleans and the reformation of Big Star – as well as his interest in astrology and 19th-century park design.
