MIDLAKE
Having earned their place in many an end-of-year Top Ten poll (including Uncut’s) for their album ‘The Trials Of Van Occupanther’, Texan quintet Midlake show what they’re made of at Latitude 2007.
Theirs is a particularly idiosyncratic homage to 70s country rock and classic AOR – in particular, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and Fleetwood Mac – themed around an eccentric fictional protagonist and rich in peculiar detail. It’s a sound that has won them fans from Belle & Sebastian’s Stuart Murdoch to actor Jason Lee and you can hear why in the Obelisk Arena on Friday.
Latitude takes place July 12 – 15 at Henham Park, Southwold, Suffolk.
