Franz Ferdinandโ€˜s Nick McCarthy has unveiled his new side-project โ€“ The Nice Nice Boys.

The guitarist has teamed up with Johnny Marr And The Healersโ€™ Andy Knowles and you can hear their new single โ€˜Round Townโ€™, featuring rapper Marvellous Macc Mello, by scrolling down below. Recorded in McCarthyโ€™s Sausage Studios and mixed at Abbey Road, the single is set to be released on McCarthy and Knowlesโ€™ label Meat Records.

The pair met at Glasgow School of Art in 2001 and hit the road together in Franz Ferdinand, with Knowles acting as an extra touring musician. Macc Melloโ€™s debut single โ€˜Drop That Beatโ€™, meanwhile, recently featured on E4โ€™s Skins and the film Eden Lake.

Franz Ferdinand meanwhile, recently debuted four new songs โ€“ โ€˜Right Thoughtsโ€™, โ€˜Brief Encountersโ€™, โ€˜Fresh Strawberriesโ€™ and โ€˜Trees And Animalsโ€™ โ€“ at various festivals including Londonโ€™s Field Day.

They are currently working on a new album which is the follow-up to their 2009 LP โ€˜Tonight: Franz Ferdinandโ€™. The band have a series of European dates lined up in the coming months but no further UK shows confirmed for the rest of the year.
