The Raconteurs have rush released their second album ‘Consolers Of The Lonely’ today (March 25).
The follow-up to 2006’s ‘Broken Boy Soldiers’ features 14 tracks, and was recorded in just one week at the beginning of March, with the band rush releasing it this week after an announcement to the press just last Tuesday (March 18).
White Stripes’ Jack White’s other band which features Brendan Benson said that the ‘rush’ release was to ensure that the album will be “available everywhere” for everyone at the same time from next Tuesday.
The group have also stated that they wanted the sudden release so that everyone, fans and media, got the record at the same time “so that no one has an upper hand on anyone else regarding it’s availability, reception or perception”.

The first single to be taken from the album is ‘Salute Your Solution’ and a video for it is expected to appear online today.
