The Stones bring it all back home, amazingly

I had originally intended to fill this space on Wednesday with some excited words on the first of this week’s three shows by The Rolling Stones at the O2 Arena, but I had urgent business in Birmingham with a former rock god whose new album may be the best thing he’s done in nigh on 30 years. But more on that later, let’s get back to the Stones.

The Factory Catalogue

Sad news of course this weekend, with the passing of Tony Wilson. I can't add much to Stephen Dalton's excellent obit. But I thought it'd be a useful tribute to put online the full Factory Catalogue that we compiled for Uncut's recent Book Of Revelations.

James Blackshaw and PG Six live

I must admit, I never thought I'd end up at the Cross Kings pub in King's Cross, North London. It used to be a place called The Backpackers, and every time I drove past it there appeared to be 200 Australians in a heap outside. Very macho, very rugby. Not really for me.

Dylan packs out comedy tent. Annuals. Bat For Lashes

Something of a full afternoon, I have to report. So busy, in fact, I've only just got round to my first beer of the day. But, happily, I also had my first Latitude highlight: Bat For Lashes.

Where are all the Brazilians..?

Making our way into the depths of the woods, to the Sunrise Arena, we half expected to be assaulted by a Jack o' the Green, or some ancient, primal force of nature.

Sunshine, sheep and Candie Payne

Afternoon all. By some dark miracle, it seems that East Anglia may be the hottest place in the UK today. Which is pretty handy for us, since we're here at the Latitude festival, with the pastel-coloured sheep and the posh burger vans and the bijou dog kennels to sleep in. It's lovely, actually.

Welcome to Latitude!

Good morning! Uncut has landed on site for this year's Latitude festival, on the edge of England, on the cleverly monikered 'Sunrise Coast'. I wonder if that means Wales is now to be known as the sunset coast?
