Goat at Glastonbury 2013 – review

So music at Glastonbury begins today, after Thursday's rain-soaked warm-up. Thankfully the sun is out, the mud is mostly gone, and the relieved party atmosphere is perfect for Goat at the West Holts Stage.

The Fifth Uncut Playlist Of 2012

Lots of goodness in the playlist this week, but before we get there, a quick heads-up for the new issue of Uncut which should be out about now.

Television, Neil Young and the new Uncut

Phew and all that. I’ve just been listening again to the 37 minute stream of new music by Neil Young and Crazy Horse that was posted at the weekend on neilyoung.com. I’m sure there were more important things I could have been doing throughout the day, like filling in health and safety reports and similarly essential tasks. But after reading John’s Wild Mercury Blog on the Neil and Crazy Horse jams, which are titled, tantalisingly, ‘Horse Back’, I haven’t needed much encouragement to utterly neglect such housekeeping duties to further take in the roiling brilliance of Neil and Crazy Horse.

This Month In Uncut!

The new issue of Uncut, which hits shelves on January 31, features The Beatles, Television, Neil Young, The Jam and more. On the cover is a 50th anniversary special celebrating The Beatles’ debut at Hamburg’s Star-Club. We chart the pre-Fabs' incredible time in the German city, where intense, raucous performances and exposure to fashionable young Germans and some seriously debauched nightlife shaped their sound and image.
