It is hard to tell where Neil Young and what we can just about call Crazy Horse end their main set in Hyde Park, Saturday night. "Rockin' In The Free World" has spluttered to a conclusion, of sorts, and the band appear to have left the stage. Then, you notice Young remains amidst the debris, pointing agitatedly at the word printed across his new t-shirt: "EARTH".
The Rolling Stones have paid tribute to the late soul singer Bobby Womack.
The band posted a message on their official website in response to the news that Womack had died on Thursday (June 27), aged 70.
The Rolling Stones released a UK No 1 cover of the song "It's All Over Now" in 1964, which was originally recorded by Womack’s group, The Valentinos.
Lots to dig into this week, not least a song to sample from the Hiss Golden Messenger album that I’ve been alluding to for so long. Strong Ronnie Lane vibes there, perhaps. Among some biggish new entries here, some lesser known names to check out, too: Jennifer Castle; 75 Dollar Bill’s weird adaptation of desert blues; the new Blonde Redhead album that increasingly feels like their strongest in an age; and Hurray For The Riff Raff, magnificent on Letterman.
Vashti Bunyan is set to release a new album in October.
'Heartleap' will come out on October 6 via FatCat. It follows her 1970 debut 'Just Another Diamond Day' and 2005's comeback album 'Lookaftering'. The new album was produced by Bunyan herself and was primarily recorded in her own studio.
The release of the album will be supported by a UK tour, which starts at Birmingham MAC on October 7, with two shows at London St Pancras Church (8-9), Farndale The Band Room (11) and Manchester St Philip's Church (12).

Sinéad O'Connor has announced details of a new studio album, I’m Not Bossy, I’m The Boss.
The record will be released via Nettwerk Records on August 11, 2014.
It is O'Connor's first studio album since How About I Be Me (And You Be You)? in 2011.
Although the full tracklisting has yet to be revealed, a single called "Take Me To Church" will also be released on August 11.
