Black Sabbath add extra date to UK tour

Black Sabbath have added an extra date to their UK tour. The Midlands band, who are due to tour in December in promotion of their new album 13 will now perform a second date at Birmingham's NIA on December 22. A gig on December 20 was previously announced and has already sold out. 13, which will be released on June 10, is the first album Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler have recorded together since 1978's Never Say Die!. Ex-Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash announces full October UK tour

Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash has announced a full UK solo tour for later this year. The guitarist, who released his second solo album Apocalyptic Love in May, will play five shows across the UK in October. The gigs begin in Edinburgh at the city's Corn Exchange on October 7 and run until October 15 when the guitarist and his band headline Newcastle's O2 Academy. The run of gigs also includes shows in Manchester, Birmingham and London.

The xx announce three UK shows to celebrate new album release

The xx have announced a trio of intimate UK shows for September. The London band will take to the stage at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on September 10 - the same day they release second album Coexist. They will follow this hometown show with gigs at The Coal Exchange in Cardiff on September 11 and Edinburgh's Usher Hall on September 12. The xx are also scheduled to perform at Bestival on the Isle of Wight on September 7.

Elbow announce autumn UK arena tour

Elbow have announced details of a UK tour. Following the band's headline slots at Latitude, T In The Park and the Isle Of Wight festivals this year, they will embark on their first ever arena tour in November and December. Kicking off at Nottingham's Capital FM Arena on November 26, the band will then head to Birmingham NIA on November 28 and then Liverpool's Echo Area on November 29, before heading to their Manchester home-town on December 1. They will finish up at London's The O2 on December 2. Elbow will play:

Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ named as ‘UK’s Favourite Number One single’

Queen's classic single "Bohemian Rhapsody" has been voted as the UK's 'Favourite Number One Single'. The poll, which has been carried out by the Official Charts Company, asked people to vote for their favourite UK Number One single of the last 60 years and revealed its winner last night (July 15). The 1975 single, which sold over one million copies during its five-week stint at Number One, saw off strong competition from Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean", which was narrowly in second place.

The Gaslight Anthem extend their October UK tour

The Gaslight Anthem have extended their UK tour, which takes place in October. The New Jersey band, who will release their new album Handwritten on July 23, have added another show at London's O2 Academy Brixton on October 17 to the their tour. They will now play five dates, two of which will be at O2 Academy Brixton. Support on the tour will come from Blood Red Shoes. Earlier this month, The Gaslight Anthem played a one-off show at London's KOKO. They will return to the UK for appearances at Reading & Leeds Festivals at the end of August.

Band Of Horses announce November UK tour

Band Of Horses have announced a four-date UK tour for later this year. The band, who recently completed work on their fourth studio album, Mirage Rock, will play four shows on the tour in November. The trek begins at Birmingham's HMV Institute on November 15, before moving on to Glasgow's O2 Academy on November 16, Manchester Academy on November 19 and finally London's HMV Hammersmith Apollo on November 20.

The Stone Roses set to re-enter the UK Top 10 this weekend

The Stone Roses are set to re-enter the UK Top 10 this weekend after their triumphant homecoming gigs at Heaton Park. The reunited band's compilation The Very Best Of The Stone Roses is set to reach Number Eight on Sunday (July 8), while their classic debut self-titled LP is set to take the Number 32 slot. Chris Brown, meanwhile, is set to take the top spot in the album chart with his new record Fortune, with last week's Number One Linkin Park down to Number Three with Living Things and Maroon 5 at Number Two with Overexposed, reports the Official Charts Company.
