Johnny Cash's childhood home has been opened to the public, as part of a bid to boost the town he grew up in.
Cash moved into the house in Dyess, Arkansas, in 1935 when he was three. The town was an experiment in president Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal programme, which aimed to help the US economy bounce back from the Great Depression. The Cashes were among 500 families specially selected by the initiative to be given a small home, some farm land, money and a mule to try and rebuild their lives.

Mitch Winehouse is to release a new album raising funds for the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
Winehouse states that his daughter Amy was involved in picking tracks for 'But Beautiful' prior to her death in 2011. The album, his second solo venture, will be released on September 29 through Amy's label, Lioness Records, with money going to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which was set up to help young people with drink and alcohol addictions.
A number of unreleased Woody Guthrie songs are to be included on a new three-disc compilation, according to Rolling Stone.
My Name Is New York pairs tracks Guthrie wrote during the 27 years he lived in the city along with informal interviews featuring Pete Seeger, Ramblin' Jack Elliott and Nora and Arlo Guthrie.
