The Beach Boys announce new UK show for September

The Beach Boys have announced a second UK show for later this year. The band, who announced that they had reformed to celebrate their 50th anniversary last December, will play London's Royal Albert Hall on September 27. The new show is the second London date of the band's full European tour, which will also see them play London's Wembley Arena on September 28.

Tom Waits to perform songs from Bad As Me live for the first time

Tom Waits is set to perform tracks from his most recent album, 2011's Bad As Me, live for the first time. The legendary singer songwriter will appear on the Late Show with David Letterman on July 9 and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on July 10, where he will be playing songs from his 17th studio album as well as appearing in conversation with the hosts.

Graham Nash to write autobiography

Graham Nash has signed up with Random House's Crown Archetype imprint for an upcoming autobiography, according to a report in The New York Times. The newspaper reports that Nash plans to start his tale with his childhood in Salford, England, and go on to cover his work with the Hollies, his move to America, his lengthy history with David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Neil Young.

Flaming Lips to give full release to Record Store Day album

Flaming Lips are to release their The Flaming Lips And Heady Fwends album on July 30. The album was originally given a limited, vinyl-only release for Record Store Day on April 21 this year. Recorded in collaboration with artists including Nick Cave, Yoko Ono and Bon Iver, the album will be released by the band's new label, Bella Union, on both CD and vinyl. Ringo Starr’s birthplace saved from demolition

Ringo Starr's birthplace has been saved from demolition, according to UK Housing Minister Grant Shapps. The Beatles drummer's former home will not be knocked down by Liverpool City Council as part of their plans to regenerate the Welsh Streets area of the city, and it will now be refurbished. According to the BBC, the house on 9 Madryn Street, in Dingle, is one of 16 on the street spared from the bulldozer; although 400 homes in the area will be pulled down.

Yeasayer announce Setember UK tour

Yeasayer have announced a short UK tour for September. The Brooklyn indie band, who announced recently that they will release their third studio album Fragrant World on August 20, will play three dates in the UK in September as well as an intimate London show in July. The gigs kick off at London's O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on September 27 before the band travel north to play Glasgow's Arches venue on September 28. They round things off at Manchester's HMV Ritz on September 29.
