The Eagles have been awarded honorary doctorates of music by the Berklee School of Music.
The ceremony, held in Boston on Saturday May 12, also saw Alison Krauss and Ethiopian musician Malatu Astatke honoured.
Previously, Berklee, the largest independent college of contemporary music in the world, has awarded honorary doctorates of music to David Bowie, BB King, Aretha Franklin and Quincy Jones among other.

A Jimi Hendrix biopic, All Is By My Side, is to start shooting in Ireland in three weeks time, according to The Irish Film And Television Network.
Starring Outkast's Andre 3000 as Hendrix, the film is reported to cover Hendrix' period in England during 1966 / 1967 as he worked on his debut album, Are You Experienced.
The film is written and directed by John Ridley, whose previous credits include the screenplays for David O Russell's Three Kings and Oliver Stone's U-Turn.

The line-up for Antony Hegarty's Meltdown festival at London's Southbank Centre has been revealed.
The Antony And The Johnsons singer is curating the annual festival, following in the footsteps of Jarvis Cocker, David Bowie and, most recently, The Kinks' Ray Davies, by curating the 12-day festival which runs August 1-12.
When he first toured the UK with The Blasters, in 1981 or thereabouts, Dave Alvin was a swaggering young yahoo in rockabilly duds with a 50s quiff, attitude to spare and the unblemished good looks of someone still fairly new to what the rest of his life would become, the bulk of it since spent mostly on the road, playing whatever bar, club, juke joint, tavern, theatre, festival, hootenanny or hoe-down that would have him.
Flaming Lips' frontman Wayne Coyne has confirmed that Heady Fewnds, the Lips' vinyl-only collaboration with Bon Iver, Nick Cave, Yoko Ono, Ke$ha, Neon Indian and others is due for a future digital release.
Coyne confirmed in a Twitter conversation with Ke$ha that the album, released for Record Store Day, will be released via iTunes in "about a month".

The Black Keys brought day one of this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival to close last night (April 13).
The California event, which is running with the same three-day bill on two consecutive weekends this year, got off to a wet and windy start.
