George Clooney's latest film as both actor and director, The Monuments Men, opens in the UK later this week, so it seemed an appropriate moment to dig out this interview I conducted for the late Uncut DVD in New York with Clooney around the release of 2005's Good Night, And Good Luck and Syriana.
Strong haul of rad gumbo here, as we’ve taken to saying. Never thought I’d want to hear another Hold Steady album after the last one, but “Teeth Dreams” pretty much reaffirmed the faith. And if you’re that way inclined, I can recommend the new Men album, too; their best, I think.

Wild Beasts have revealed details of their new album and a UK and Irish tour to take place in March and April.
The band will release their fourth album later Present Tense on February 24.
The band will then play six dates on a headline UK tour, including a date at London's Brixton Academy. The band will also perform live in Manchester, Glasgow, Dublin, Bristol and Cambridge. Scroll down for full details.

The kitchen table formerly owned Ian Curtis is up for sale on eBay.
The item is listed with a £100 reserve price, which has not yet been met. The seller is supplying the wooden table with various documentation, including certificates confirmating its authenticity signed by Curtis' daughter Natalie, Curtis' widow Debbie and the daughter of Curtis' former neighbour, who sold the table eight years ago.
