The Temptations Richard Street has died aged 70. Street, who was a member of the Motown group for 25 years after joining the band in the early 1970's as Paul Williams' replacement, passed away early yesterday morning (February 27) in Las Vegas of a pulmonary embolism.

David Byrne and St Vincent have announced a trio of headline UK shows, set to take place in August. The pair will play London's Roundhouse on August 27, Birmingham Symphony Hall on August 28 and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on August 29. The shows will take place as part of a wider European tour. David Byrne and St Vincent will also join Sigur Ros and Belle And Sebastian in headlining this summer's End Of The Road festival following their stand-alone shows.

David Byrne & St Vincent are set to join Sigur Ros and Belle And Sebastian in headlining this summer's End Of The Road festival. Talking Heads man David Byrne and Annie Clark of St Vincent released their acclaimed debut collaborative album, 'Love This Giant', last year. A host more new bands have also been announced for the event, which takes place in Larmer Tree Gardens, North Dorset from August 30 to September 1.

Ravi Shankar's posthumous Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award was accepted by his daughters at a pre-Grammy event in Los Angeles on Saturday (February 9). Anoushka Shankar, a gifted sitar-player herself, and award-winning singer Norah Jones, accepted the award on behalf of their late father at a ceremony at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in California.

Cecil Womack dies aged 65

Cecil Womack, brother of Bobby Womack and one half of Womack and Womack, has died aged 65. Womack passed away on February 1 in Africa. Bobby Womack confirmed his death earlier today (February 7). In his later years, Womack was known as Zekuumba Zekkariyas after embracing his African heritage and finding family ties to the Zekkariyas tribe. He was best known for Womack And Womack's 1988 hit single "Teardrops", which he recorded with his second wife, Linda Cooke, the daughter of soul singer Sam Cooke.
