Pretty auspicious new arrival this morning, as you can see from Number 23 at the bottom of the list; sounding good, albeit 44 years too late.

Been away for a while, so as you might imagine there are a lot of new things in here. Particularly liking The Field, Feist and James Blackshaw at this early stage.

Some next-level spam last night, in that someone/some bot tried posting, “I can't believe LeBron is going to the Bulls, he should really just stay where he is” on an old Elliott Smith blog. For what it’s worth, I can’t believe Notts have signed Ben Phillips this morning, either.

Take a look at this, which has been the best thing I’ve heard this week by a mile, and the clip’s superb, too.

Interesting bit of heat around the blog last week about Neil Young’s “Le Noise”, where as a result of expressing mild scepticism about Daniel Lanois’ production schtick, I learned that, “Such a lack of musical knowledge and understanding art is unforgivable.”

I can’t pretend that we’ve been playing the Bob Dylan album that much, but a bit of interesting Dylan news did surface this week; that a previously unreleased song from the “Bringing It All Back Home” sessions called “California” is set to appear, with characteristic weirdness, on something entitled “NCIS: The Official TV Soundtrack – Vol. 2”.

So if you’ve ever wondered what a witch's tit sounds like, then this is it.” Today has been the hottest day of the year so far in the capital. Despite the welcoming evening cool outside, temperatures in the newly-refurbished Upstairs At The Garage in north London are unforgivingly high. But in some respects, you couldn’t have wished for a better line-up at Club UNCUT in heat like this.
