Watch Bruce Springsteen pay tribute to fallen servicemen

Bruce Springsteen has posted a video on his YouTube channel paying tribute to servicemen who died during the Vietnam War. The video is a performance of High Hopes' track "The Wall" recorded April 19, 2014 at Charlotte, North Carolina. Describing the song as "a short prayer for my country", he explained it was inspired by Walter and Roy Chichon, from local New Jersey group called the Motifs.

Patrick Flanery – Fallen Land

Getting it together in the suburbs seems to be a peculiarly middle class rite of passage – the moment when city living is no longer tenable and a migration in pursuit of wider spaces, cleaner living and better schools is required. Such considerations are behind the decision taken by Nathaniel and Julia Noailles, who with their young, Aspergersy son Copley exchange their life in Boston for a more spacious existence in Dolores Woods, a large development on the outskirts of an un-named Midwestern city, in Patrick Flanery’s tremendous new novel, Fallen Land.

‘Blame it on Jack White…’ Introducing BP Fallon & The Bandits

The last time I had occasion to write about my old friend BP Fallon in Uncut was in March, 2010, when he’d just released his debut single, produced by Jack White and released by Jack’s Third Man Records as the first in the label’s new Spoken Word-Instructional record Series. “Fame #9” was backed with “BP Fallon Interview By Jack White” and “I Believe In Elvis Presley”, on which White played some viperish slide guitar, with The Raconteurs’ Patrick Keeler on drums. There was also a video, featuring some of BP’s many friends, including Kevin Shields, Bobby Gillespie and Gemma Hayes.

Watch The National debut two songs on Jimmy Fallon

The National played two songs from their forthcoming sixth studio album Trouble Will Find Me on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night (April 25). The Brooklyn band performed "Sea Of Love" and a web exclusive of "I Need My Girl" on the programme – scroll down to watch footage of both.

Jay-Z falls out with Occupy Wall Street again

Jay-Z has hit out at the Occupy Wall Street Movement, accusing protestors of not being clear about what they want. When asked about last year's activity at Manhattan's Zuccotti Park, where activists set up camp as the campaign went global in more than 80 countries last year, he told the New York Times: "What’s the thing on the wall, what are you fighting for?"
