Peter Gabriel, E Street Band, Nirvana to join Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame has announced its inductees for 2014. Following the committee vote, Peter Gabriel, Hall And Oates, Cat Stevens, Linda Ronstadt, Nirvana and Kiss will be inducted, while The E Street Band will be given the Award For Musical Excellence. Artists are eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record, meaning Nirvana, who released debut album 'Bleach' in 1989, have been nominated at the first possible opportunity.

Peter Gabriel is to release a new single, "Courage" on November 4, 2013. The track was originally part of the sessions for the singer's 1986 album, So. It was 'rediscovered' during the search for materials for the So 25th anniversary box set

Peter Gabriel to release first new material in five years

Peter Gabriel has recorded a new song and score for a forthcoming film, Words With Gods. It will be Gabriel's first new material since "Down To Earth", which written for the Pixar film, WALL-E. Gabriel - who has also written scores for Martin Scorsese's The Last Temptation Of Christ and Phillip Noyce's Rabbit Proof Fence - hasn't released a new album of original material since Up in 2002. His last album, 2011's New Blood, comprised orchestral reworkings of his own material.

Peter Gabriel announces So tour

Peter Gabriel is to play his 1986 album, So, in its entirety. Gabriel, who is currently celebrating the 25th anniversary of the album, is to bring to the UK next October his current Back To Front tour, featuring the original live band who toured So with him in the mid-Eighties. Gabriel will perform So in its entirely as well as material from his entire career.
