Line-up revealed for Wes Anderson tribute album

A new Wes Anderson tribute album is set for release next year. I Saved Latin! is a two-CD collection of songs taken from director Anderson's films, including tracks by bands such as The Rolling Stones, John Lennon, David Bowie and The Velvet Underground. Artists contributing covers include Black Francis and Kristin Hersh. All of the songs included on the album are taken from the soundtracks to Anderson’s films: The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr Fox and Bottle Rocket.

The Small Faces confirm tracklisting and release date for deluxe collector’s box set

The Small Faces have confirmed details for their Here Comes The Nice The Immediate Years Boxset 1967-1969 deluxe collector's box set. The set contains 75 songs spread over 4 CDs remastered from original analogue master tapes and studio multitracks. Rare and previously unreleased material, unheard recording sessions from Olympic, IBC & Trident Studios, outtakes, early mixes, alternate versions and live material across 3CDs.

Thurston Moore to join Lee Ranaldo and Steve Shelley for live show

Thurston Moore's new band, Thurston Moore UK, are set to support Lee Ranaldo and the Dust at London's Garage venue on November 21. Lee Ranaldo and the Dust are made up of Ranaldo, Steve Shelley, Alan Licht and Tim Luntzel. They released their new album Last Night On Earth last month. Following the London show, the band play All Tomorrow's Parties festival at Camber Sands Pontins on November 22.

A lot of things can happen when you watch The Necks, the magnificent Australian improvising trio, play live. Sometimes, you can become fixated on prosaic details: how does Tony Buck’s left hand keep vibrating that shaker onto his drumkit at such an ecstatic velocity for so long, for instance? Do they have hidden clocks that allow them to move so elegantly to a conclusion without appearing to even acknowledge each other’s presence, let alone look at one another? Will unzipping my coat be an unacceptably noisy intervention?

Morrisey confirms book signing

Morrissey will be signing copies of his autobiography tomorrow [October 16]. According to his quasi-official website, True To You, Morrissey will be appearing in Gothenberg, Sweden to sign copies of Autobiography - which is published tomorrow. The post reads: "Morrissey will appear at Akademibokhandeln Nordstan in Goteborg (Sweden) on Thursday 17 October to sign copies of his Autobiography. The book is available throughout Europe on this date.
