Blur are set to release Parklive, a live album recorded at this summer's Hyde Park gig in London. The five disc CD and DVD set will come out on December 3. Watch Radiohead perform on American television

US TV show Austin City Limits aired an hour-long performance by Radiohead on Saturday (October 6) – and you can watch it in full here. The set, filmed in March on the Oxford band's US tour, sees the band playing a set heavy on tracks from 2011's The King Of Limbs. Austin City Limits is a long-running music programme on America's PBS, and Radiohead's performance marked the start of its 38th series. The National receive hate mail for supporting Barack Obama

The National received hate mail for supporting US President Barack Obama's campaign for four more years in the oval office. The band were sent "hate mail on Facebook" for playing a Democratic campaign rally for the incumbent President in Des Moines last month, according to guitarist/keyboardist Aaron Dessner. Despite the criticism, the Brooklyn group say they stand by their decision to publically support Obama as the election is "more important than any rock band".

Beach Boys launch petition against Mike Love’s ‘money-saving’ post-anniversary tour

The Beach Boys' Al Jardine has asked fans to sign a petition to champion the Beach Boys' full reunited line-up, over bandmate Mike Love's version of the band without the other three members. Love has previously revealed plans to continue touring under the Beach Boys name after the band's current 50th anniversary, which ends in London tomorrow (September 28).

First Look – Looper

It’s a pretty auspicious day, according to my Twitter feed. No, it’s not just that Neil Young has joined Twitter – 21,300 followers and rising.

Paul Weller – The Ultimate Music Guide

Please excuse the wholly shameless plug, but I thought you might like to know that the next in our series of Ultimate Music Guides goes on sale tomorrow (September 6) and this one is dedicated to Paul Weller.

Six Organs Of Admittance: “Ascent”

With the new Uncut out tomorrow, it just occurred to me that I'd forgotten to post this review from the last issue. I did at least put up the full transcript of my email exchange with Ben Chasny, which you can check out by following this link. "Ascent" is on sale now, by the way.

The 34th Uncut Playlist Of 2012

A couple of notable absences here, I guess, since there remains no sign of Neil Young & Crazy Horse’s “Psychedelic Pill” (as we’re currently assuming it’s called), and only the editor has heard Bob Dylan’s “Tempest”, in some kind of fortified panic room at the Sony offices.
