Axl Rose thanks crowd for “not throwing shit” at opening night of Guns N’ Roses’ UK and Ireland tour

Guns N' Roses kicked off their UK and Ireland tour at The O2 in Dublin last night [May 17] with a near three-hour set that did not conclude until just after 1:15am. Pyrotechnics, six costume changes, a cover of the Pink Panther theme tune and the band's now traditional late arrival on stage marked the 21-song set that got underway at 10:25pm - nearly an hour and a half after the band's expected stage time.

Damon Albarn hints at Gorillaz album without Jamie Hewlett

Damon Albarn has hinted that there could be another Gorillaz album without his partner, Jamie Hewlett. Speaking in an interview with Shortlist, Albarn said that nothing would change musically if he went ahead and made a record without Hewlett, but that there would be no cartoon element in the form of Murdoc. He said:

Bright Eyes’ Conor Oberst to open his own bar

Bright Eyes mainman Conor Oberst is to open his own bar in his home state of Omaha. The singer, who released his latest album The People's Key in early 2011, is planning the venture with friend and fellow Omaha musician, Phil Schaffart. The bar, which will not host live music, is set to be named The Pageturners Lounge after the bookshop which previously inhabited the space. Oberst and Schaffert bought the premises in February.

Blur announce massive reissue campaign

Blur are set to celebrate the 21st anniversary will a comprehensive reissue campaign. All seven of the band's studio albums are to be re-released on July 30 in expanded Special Edition formats, each featuring a bonus disc of previously unreleased material, booklets, and more.

Jack White announces new UK live date

Jack White has announced a new UK show ahead of his tour in June. The former White Stripes man, who has already sold out previously announced dates at London's O2 Academy Brixton on June 21 and HMV Hammersmith Apollo on June 22, will now also play the UK Capital's HMV Forum next Monday (April 23). Tickets go on sale tomorrow [April 17] at 9am GMT. White releases his debut solo album Blunderbuss on the same day [April 23] on Third Man Records/XL Records. The album was self-produced at his own Third Man Studio in Nashville.
