Watch Kim and Kelley Deal perform Pixies, Breeders songs at acoustic show

Kim Deal appeared at Chicago's Reckless Records on April 19 as part of Record Store Day. During a brief acoustic set, Deal played an acoustic version of Pixies' song, “Gigantic", which Stereogum claim is her first performance of the song since leaving the band. Kim was joined by her sister Kelley on electric guitar for a version of the Breeders' “Cannonball”.

Neil Young’s A Letter Home: CD, download and deluxe box set revealed

Neil Young has announced details of the CD, download and box set editions of A Letter Home. The vinyl edition of the album was released by Jack White's Third Man label on Record Store Day [April 19]. Young will now release the album via Warner Bros/Reprise Records on May 19 across multiple formats.

Neil Young’s Time Fades Away reissue: the plot thickens

Copies of Neil Young's Record Store Day reissue of his long-out-of-print 1973 album, Time Fades Away, have been manufactured and are sitting in warehouse, according to Record Store Day co-founder Michael Kurtz. The album was scheduled for release as part of Young's Official Release Series Discs 5-8 Vinyl Box Set, alongside On The Beach, Tonight's The Night and Zuma. It was delayed in March "due to several other projects that Young has in the works that he wishes to focus on."

Billy Corgan to release experimental private press album

Billy Corgan is to release an album of experimental recordings made in 2007 for a price of $59.95 (approximately £36). Titled AEGEA, the album comes in an edition of 250, each hand-numbered and annotated by Corgan. It will be released in the next six to eight weeks, reports Pitchfork.

Jack White announces summer 2014 tour dates

Jack White has announced a series of dates across North America and Europe to take place this summer. The singer/guitarist will be separately supported by fellow Third Man artist Kelley Stoltz and soul singer-songwriter Benjamin Booker. Following a one-off date for Record Store Day in Nashville, where White hopes to record and press a 7" in record time, the tour begins in full on May 29 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
