The 17th Uncut Playlist Of 2009

After a couple of weeks away, there was quite a selection of stuff waiting for me when I returned to Uncut on Tuesday, as this playlist hopefully shows. A situation compounded yesterday by the arrival of Neil Young’s fabled first volume of “Archives”.

Trouble In Mind

Mobster shoot-outs, day-glo suits… and Divine! Alan Rudolph’s wild ’85 fantasy still disturbs

3D headaches, Murder Ballads & Disaster Songs and the new Uncut playlist

Feeling a bit queasy right now, after watching five minutes of Jean Michel Jarre's new DVD while wearing 3D glasses. I can't vouch for the whole disc of "Oxygene", but Jarre seems to eschew the youthful sort of 3D stunts and go instead for shots of him and his mates playing some lovely old synths. Quite strange, not least because it seems to have had the unusual effect of making me both bored and dizzy at the same time.

Ten Years Ago This Week

HAPPENINGS TEN YEARS TIME AGO May 14 to 20, 1997 Crosby, Stills & Nash are inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame. Neil Young also gets the call, as part of Buffalo Springfield, while other inductees are Joni Mitchell, The Bee Gees, The Jackson Five, Parliament/Funkadelic, and The Young Rascals.
