Pink Floyd have released more details about their new album, The Endless River. Following yesterday's revelations that the band are to release their first studio album in 20 years, the band have issued a brief statement.

Pink Floyd are set to release a new album, called The Endless River, in October. News of the LP came via the Twitter account of Polly Samson - partner of David Gilmour. The author said that the new album would be based on 1994 sessions with the band's Richard Wright, who passed away in 2008 at the age of 65.

Pink Floyd announce 20th anniversary box set of The Division Bell

Pink Floyd are releasing a 20th anniversary box set of The Division Bell. The box set features six discs, including three replica coloured or clear vinyl discs, 5 collectors’ prints, a Blu-ray disc and for the first time Andy Jackson’s 5.1 audio mix of The Division Bell. The box set will be released on June 30. Pink Floyd and Radiohead members petition against ban on guitars in prisons

Musicians including David Gilmour, Radiohead's Ed O'Brien and Philip Selway, Elbow's Guy Garvey, Johnny Marr and Billy Bragg have thrown their weight behind a campaign to overturn the ban on steel-strung guitars in British prisons.

University announces Pink Floyd academic conference

An American university is to host the world's first Pink Floyd academic conference. Called Pink Floyd: Sound, Sight, And Structure, the event will be held at Princeton University on April 13. According to a report on the website Open Culture, the keynote speaker at the event will be Pink Floyd producer and engineer James Guthrie.
