The Kinks’ Dave Davies sends message of support to Malcolm Young

Dave Davies has issued a message of support to AC/DC's Malcolm Young, who is rumoured to have experienced a stroke. Writing on his Facebook page on April 17, Davies offered some advice to Young:

Bruce Springsteen plays The Wild, The Innocent And The E Street Shuffle in full at final Australia show

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band played their 1973 album, The Wild, The Innocent And The E Street Shuffle in full at their final show in Australia today [February 26]. The band opened with a cover of the Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive", and were joined by Eddie Vedder for a cover of AC/DC's "Highway To Hell" during the encores. Vedder had previously joined the band to play the same song in Melbourne on Saturday, February 15.

Led Zeppelin launches back catalogue on Spotify

Led Zeppelin have signed a deal with Spotify allowing the service to stream their back catalogue. The band announced the news on their Twitter account at 15.30 GMT today [December 11]. "Led Zeppelin is now available on demand, only on @Spotify. Play now: http://spoti.fi/LedZep #StreamZeppelin" Starting today, the band's first two albums - Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II - are available, with additional albums being released at midnight local time each day for the next four days.

My Top 50 Albums Of All Time (Now including a Top 131, sort of)

As you may have seen, this week’s NME features the 2013 edition of their 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time. For this one, they also accepted votes from a bunch of the mag’s alumni, including me, so I thought it’d be an easy, albeit self-indulgent, blog to reproduce my Top 50 albums here.

As you come up the escalator at Leicester Square underground station, you might notice the posters lining the walls advertising Mamma Mia!, Viva Forever! and We Will Rock You. You could be forgiven for wondering what place Dexys have in the heart of West End theatreland, especially here among these big karaoke musicals.
