The Rolling Stones sold £24 million worth of tickets for their recent 50 And Counting shows.
The band's sell-out shows in London on November 25 and 29 (2012) shifted as many as 31,755 tickets. Their US dates at Brooklyn's new Barclays Center on December 8 as well as a two-show stint on December 13 and 15 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, pushed the total number of tickets sold to 364,864 over all five dates, Billboard reports.

As many of you will have seen by now, the current issue of Uncut features our Top 75 albums of 2012 and, as usual, there’s been a fair amount of comment online about the list. I’m going to try not to be too defensive about this, but as the person who compiled the list, I thought it might be useful to post a few notes that’ll hopefully clarify one or two issues that have been raised.
The Stone Roses have announced plans for one-off gig in Dubai next year.
The reformed Manchester band will play the Media City Amphitheatre on February 21, 2013. Tickets for the concert go on sale on Sunday (November 18). Fans can register for tickets at Thestonerosesdubai.com.
The band are also set to play two shows at Finsbury Park in London and another at Glasgow Green in June next year. Support for the Glasgow show includes Primal Scream, Jake Bugg and The View. Support for the London shows will be announced shortly.
The giant US concert venue company that runs London's O2 Arena is up for sale.
Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), who own a stake in David Beckham's football team LA Galaxy, also owns AEG Live – the world's second biggest ticket and live music company behind Live Nation, the Evening Standard reports.
The firm's owners said it was "an appropriate time" to sell up as the company could "maximise value for all concerned". It has been speculated that the whole company could fetch £4.25 billion.
Neil Young has hinted that he may reunite Buffalo Springfield.
The singer believes he has unfinished business with the mid-'60s band he formed with Stephen Stills, and may reform the group for a new record. They previously reunited for a brief tour in 2011.
Speaking to The Guardian, Young said:
"Two of the guys are no longer with us, so it's difficult, but we're yet to do something that …you never know."
Alabama Shakes have topped the first ever Record Store Chart with their debut album Boys And Girls.
The chart, which launched on Friday, is calculated on physical sales from independent record shops and is being overseen by the Official Charts Company.
The Georgia band's debut came out on top this week, narrowly ahead of Adele's 21, which is Number Two and Trembling Bells' The Marble Downs, which is Number Three.
