Graham Coxon has hinted that Blur could play new material at their Hyde Park show later this year.

Damon Albarn has unveiled the first single from the studio album of material composed for his Dr Dee opera.

Blur frontman Damon Albarn has revealed that he almost recorded an album with David Bowie and The Kinks' mainman Ray Davies. The singer, who is currently preparing for the release of the studio album version of his opera Doctor Dee, revealed that for precisely 24 hours he was set to make a record with the Thin White Duke and The Kinks man.

Blur guitarist Graham Coxon has spoken about his latest solo album 'A+E' and has said he believes the recording of the album has opened him up to a whole new style of music.

Damon Albarn will release a studio album of material composed for his Dr Dee opera on May 7.

Blur will play a brand new song during their headlining slot at the Olympic Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert in London later this year - but will not be recording a new album, bassist Alex James has confirmed.

Producer Stephen Street has said he would to love make a new album with Blur. Street, who was responsible for producing several of the band's LPs including 'Modern Life Is Rubbish', 'Parklife', 'The Great Escape' and 'Blur', said he hasn't been approached but it would be great to be asked. Blur closed the Brit Awards with a triumphant five-song set at London's O2 Arena last night (February 21).
