David Ackles’ self-titled 1968 debut is being re-issued by International Feel Records. The album has been out of print for a decade. This will be its first re-release on vinyl since the 1970′s while the CD features five bonus tracks and liner notes. Amazon.com are carrying a release date of December 10. A new video for David Bowie's 'I'd Rather Be High (Venetian Mix)' has been unveiled. Scroll down to watch the video. "I’d Rather Be High (Venetian Mix)" appears on the recently released deluxe edition of The Next Day Extra and also appears on Bowie Louis Vuitton advert. The video uses found footage from World War 1, including scenes of soldiers dancing while wearing gas masks, with close up shots of Bowie's distorted face.

David Crosby and Graham Nash to guest on new David Gilmour album

Graham Nash and David Crosby are to guest on David Gilmour's new album. Nash revealed the news in an interview on the Needle Time programme on Vintage TV. Speaking about their appearance on Gilmour's album, Nash said, “What the hell would it cost you to have David Crosby and Graham Nash getting on a bloody train to Brighton to sing with you? We’re musicians. We love good songs. We’ll sing them until we are dead.”

Patti Smith and David Byrne are the latest high profile artists to pay tribute to Lou Reed, who died on Sunday [October 26]. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Smith said:

Video for James Murphy’s David Bowie remix to premiere on October 30

David Bowie will premiere the video for the James Murphy remix of his song "Love Is Lost" during the Mercury Music Prize ceremony on Wednesday (October 30). Visuals for the 10-minute long reworking of The Next Day album track will be unveiled during the Mercury Music Prize show on More 4 in the UK at 9.30pm. The full video will then be made available to watch on Vevo from November 1.

David Bowie and John Cale lead tributes to Lou Reed

David Bowie is among many artists who have paid tribute to Lou Reed, who died yesterday [October 27] aged 71. A post on Bowie's website read: "R.I.P. LOU REED "It is with great sadness that we report the death of Lou Reed who died today aged 71. (March 2, 1942 – October 27, 2013) David Bowie said of his old friend: 'He was a master.'"

Rare David Bowie radio show to be aired on BBC 6 Music today

A rare David Bowie promotional radio programme will air on BBC Radio 6 Music today [October 23]. The 15-minute show was recorded by Bowie to promote the release of Bowie's 1973 album Pin Ups but never made it on air. The quarter of an hour broadcast includes tracks from the album, as well as clips of Bowie talking about the London music scene.

David Byrne criticises music streaming sites

David Byrne has laid into online music streaming sites in a new opinion piece. In the blog, which was published by The Guardian, Byrne says that the 'pittance' paid by sites such as Spotify to artists means that new and upcoming musicians won't be able to survive without supplementing their income in other ways and focusing less on making music.
