The Rolling Stones apparently played the loudest gig ever to take place in London's Hyde Park, according to Jim King of concert promoters AEG.
King added that despite this, only one complaint about the noise was recorded. Speaking to Music Week, King commented: "The Rolling Stones played the loudest anybody's ever played in Hyde Park before and we had one complaint. The music could have been off and we'd have still had that complaint anyway."
When The Rolling Stones appeared here in 1969, they played on a stage so ultimately flimsy it afterwards could have been towed away on the back of a truck or broken down on the spot and sold for scrap. Unlike the Stones, it was not built to last.
Nick Ferraro started out as an Elvis tribute act around his native Philadelphia in 1986. On October 19, 2009, wearing his full Vegas Elvis costume, he went to see Bruce Springsteen at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. Spotting Ferraro in the crowd, Springsteen launched into “All Shook Up” before pulling him on stage to join in. As the song finished, Ferraro – perhaps enjoying his moment of glory a little too much – started singing “Blue Suede Shoes” before Springsteen politely took the mic off him, ushering him off stage with the legend, “Elvis has left the building.”

The Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts has spoken about his memories of playing Hyde Park in 1969 as the band get set to return there for a show on July 6.
The central London venue was the sight of the now-legendary concert that took place just two days after the death of Brian Jones. Mick Jagger sported a white smock and read a Shelley poem in tribute to Jones before thousands of butterflies were released from the stage.

Arctic Monkeys will headline on Friday and Mumford & Sons will headline on Sunday. Other bands playing include Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Portishead, Alabama Shakes, Elvis Costello, Primal Scream, Vampire Weekend, Dinosaur Jr and Cat Power.
