The first headline act set to play this year's Latitude Festival at Henham Park, Suffolk has been revealed.

This year's Latitude Festival is nearly ready to launch -- with the first headliner being announced exclusively on Uncut.co.uk at 12noon today (March 19)!

As Latitude 2008 approaches (it's on between July 17 and 20, lest you forget), here's an exceptional chance to help write a play that'll be performed at the festival.

We've just heard from Festival Republic that they'll be announcing the line-up for this year's Latitude on March 19. That's also the day when tickets will go on sale.

Now that we've just about recovered from last year's wonderful, Uncut-sponsored Latitude Festival, it's time we started anticipating the 2008 event. As usual, the acclaimed three day event will be held at Henham Park in Southwold, Suffolk. The dates for your diary this year are July 17-20.

It must have been an unusually quiet day, because we are not usually out and about when we should be working, nose to grindstone, shackled to the pleasurable daily graft of putting together Uncut.

Well, we're all finally back from Latitude and looking back at one of the best festivals any of us can remember.

They call this time the gloaming -- night coming down, all colours leached from the sky. It seems a remarkably appropriate moment for the Arcade Fire to take the stage and close Latitude Year two with an enormous bang. And some fireworks.
