Rare archive material documenting the first 20 years of The Beach Boys' career will go up for auction in London next month.
The treasure trove was discovered in a storage facility in Florida in 2000, and is thought to be one of the biggest collections of music memorabilia to ever be put up for sale. It features manuscripts and sheet music for around 150 songs, recording contracts, previously unseen photographs and handwritten lyrics and letters.
The Beach Boys' Brian Wilson and Jeff Beck are to host a Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp in Las Vegas.
The 'camp' takes place from April 18-21 at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, where attendees will learn songwriting tips from the legendary Beach Boys singer and guitar lessons from Jeff Beck.
In addition to practicing and recording music with the two legends, the 'campers' will also get the chance to perform at MGM Grand's Rouge Lounge at the end of the four-day session. There will also be an attendees-only gig by Brian Wilson.
Brian Wilson has said that he doubts there will be another reunion of The Beach Boys.
Wilson was speaking on Sunday (February 10) at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. When asked about the possibility of a reunion - following last year's 50th anniversary tour dates and the release of a brand new album 'That's Why God Made The Radio' - Wilson told the press room: "No, I don't think so. Doubt it."
The reunited Beach Boys' return to the stage is reviewed in the latest issue of Uncut, out now – and as their new album "That's Why God Made The Radio" is also fresh in shops, it seemed time to revisit this piece from Uncut's June 2007 issue (Take 121)… Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine guide us through their perfect ‘pocket symphony’, three minutes and thirty-six seconds of avant-garde pop. Interviews and intro by Rob Hughes.
